AJ Planning & Physical Recreation, Skill, and Voluntary Service
During Month 2, you’ll begin planning your AJ and continue working on your Major/first section, while beginning to set up activities for the other two sections that you didn’t choose as your Major.
Month 2 Resources Month 2 Checklist
All Adventurous Journeys (AJs) require a team of 4-8 peers and at minimum, the following adult roles to support you: An Award leader, a Supervisor, and an Assessor. The roles of Supervisor and Assessor can be filled by the same person. Together, the team decides on a mode of travel, a team goal, and an environment where they can safely travel. Teams train, plan and prepare to make sure they have the skills and resources they need to safely complete their journey. Refer to the AJ Planning Guide and many more resources on the AJ Navigator.
Please Note: If you are having trouble finding a group for your AJ, try reaching out to friends, family, family friends, classmates, and colleagues around your age. If you’re still stuck, feel free to contact your Award Leader for help.
You will complete activities over a span of 52 weeks in the other two sections that you didn’t choose as your Major/first section. Begin participating in chosen activities for Skill, Physical Recreation, and Voluntary Service, ensuring to regularly update activity logs on the ORB.

AJ Packing List
What you need to pack will be dependent on your mode of travel, activities, and location of your journey. View the Adventurous Journey Packing List to view a suggested list of items to consider when packing individual and team gear/equipment for your journey.
Month 2 checklist:
- Continued working on your Major/first section, ensuring to regularly update activity logs on the ORB.
- Finished setting up your remaining two activity sections on the ORB (Smart Goal and Assessor contact details mandatory).
- Began brainstorming and planning your AJ.
Please Note: Once your activity sections have been approved by your Award Leader, begin logging your activities! Don’t forget you will need to complete 26 weeks of activity for your two remaining sections.

Keep in mind the deadline to finish your AJ is the end of month 10, and the deadline for all activity completions is the end of Month 13.
