Welcoming His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh

We are delighted to welcome His Royal Highness, The Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, KG GCVO in his first official visit to Canada as The Duke of Edinburgh as he leads the International Award Canada meeting Award Holders in Toronto and Vancouver this week.

For many years, HRH Prince Edward has been a strong advocate for the Award in Canada and as our new patron his visit celebrates 60 years of achievements of over 500,000 young people who have achieved a Bronze Silver or Gold Award.

Since 1963, the Awards non-formal program has empowered young people in Canada to push beyond their comfort zone through discovering a hidden talent or skill, improving their physical fitness, connecting with their community through volunteering and exploring the abundance of nature Canada has to offer.

In 2023, the Award celebrates 60 years in supporting young people to become world ready. We invite you participate in our celebrations, and help us empower future generations of young people. Click here to get involved.
