We are excited to announce the launch of a national network of Trained Activity Providers (TAPs) who are specifically trained to deliver Adventurous Journeys at each level of the Award.
This Directory is a guide for Award Leaders, participants and parents/guardians to use when considering options for completing the Adventurous Journey section. Any decision to use a TAP must be based on one’s own research to determine the suitability of an activity for the participant. The Award does not endorse one TAP over another but is providing this list as possible options for Award Centres and participants to consider.
What is a Trained Activity Provider (TAP)?
Trained Activity Providers (TAPs) are organizations or groups that deliver activities or services suitable to satisfy Award requirements.
Why are we developing a network of TAPs?
We recognize that for many young people, completing the Adventurous Journey can be a barrier of completion. Our aim by creating a national network of TAPs is to support Award Centres, Award Leaders and participants so that more young people can complete their Award. This Directory denotes that the organizations have undergone specific Award training, undergo regular quality assurance by the Award and understand the requirements for the Adventurous Journey.
Disclaimer: All Trained Activity Providers are required to have child protection and safety management procedures in place. Organizations who are not licensed as a TAP may not use the Award logo or endorse their trips as meeting Award requirements.
If you are interested in learning more about the process of becoming a nationally registered TAP or have suggestions for additions to this directory, please send an email to: tapadmin@dukeofed.org.
